Happiness - Ambition
Everybody deserves to be happy, and there’s no exception to it. It is what we usually call the human’s rights. Am I happy? Is this what I want? People often ask themselves those questions and yet realized, that they’re not happy enough. Strikethrough. They’re not satisfied enough. People work so hard to pursue their dreams, get a job, getting laid, this, that, these, those, all sort of things.
I am pretty sure as whoever read this must’ve been told that one of human’s basic natures is that human is never satisfied. When they reach level 10, they wanna reach level 15. When they reach level 15, they go for 20. So and so forth. It is good at work to be so, gives some competitive environment, but at some level, it is also a stupid act leading to various miseries.
Ambition is what makes a human human. They have ambition, to pursue their happiness, or satisfaction? Such thin line that differentiates them, causes us to go for what we don’t really want. I have ambition myself: When I graduate I want to have a steady job, nice income, and I want to have a place of my own. This is my dream, when I reach it, I’ll be happy. But when I do get steady work, let’s say I become an animator at Disney’s Pixar studio (dreaming is allowed!), there must be people who fight for themselves for the very same reason as I would do: position. This is no happiness we’re pursuing, but rather ambition.
I really pray for God not to let me be in that kind of situation. I know I might’ve been a wee bit too religious lately (which might let people hate me) but I don’t really have a friend to talk to (I know so sad). My buddy left me without reasons; my BFF is so very busy pursuing her own dreams. I, on the other hand might seem a little bit absent about pursuing this and that, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have my ambition. It’s just after so long I ‘m looking for it, I always end up in a very very bad situation which I honestly say, I’m still trapped into.
So there’s my whining, and please don’t send any sympathetic comments.

Avatar
As so many people have been waiting and dying to watch this so-called James Cameron's highest budget movie, I finally went to the cinema and watch this blue avatar creature that I previously mocked as a disgusting-ugly creatures. And you know what? I was stunned. The animation was just too beautiful and it fit perfectly with the real environment. Even though I found some errors in the animation, but it was barely noticable. =)
The story itself is about an ex-marine named Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) whose gone limp from waist below who were willing to join in avatar program which was designed to learn the way of Na'vi creature (original creature who lived in the planet named Pandora) live. Humans are interested to mine a rare mineral called unobtanium which sells 20 million dollars per kilo. Jake was sent to do research and "undercover" as Na'vi people and soon fell in love to live as an avatar. He then later betrayed his own kind to help Na'vi people defend their homeland.
I won't talk much about the story because it is better watch than told, and also this movie is kinda long, about 3 hours but not boring at all. Even an action-genre hater like me enjoyed the battle. =)
The movie is very much epic, and moving. I give it 9 of 10 stars.
P.S. The deity Na'vi people have is called Eywa, but somehow when pronounced continuosly, it is heard as "Elohim", which means God.
Holiday Season
Okay finally it's time to catch a breath and relieve some stress for my university life, cuz it's a holiday time! Yaay! Even though this holiday period between semesters is quite brief (only like, 12 days including Saturday and Sunday), but I think it's enough to relieve anything that needs relieving. I personally kinda eager to start a new semester, with some many new subjects such as pPhotography, Typography, Visual Communication Design, and old ones such as English, Drawing and Graphic Computer. One thing I hate is just this theory subject called Indonesian's Culture and Art History. I have always been had a hard time every time I try to like something that is related to Indonesia. I know the panoramas are good, the cultures are rich and so and so forth but it's just not ME. I disgusts (okay, a bit too rough of a word but oh well) Indonesian, but for its people, for connection and friend I have never been picky. =)
Now the plan for surviving this holiday. I plan to sleep not more than 11 every night, because ever since I got into this whole design thing, I realized that my life cycle hasn't been normal. I sleep everyday at 2, I woke up at 10 and I spend the rest of the day in front of computer. Sure I have job, but it's not like I'll be doing it every day, I only got 3 days job, and it's only about 2~3 hours per day. Okay then let's stick to the plan, after sleeping ALWAYS before 11 I also want to wake up at about 8 or 9, then do some exercises in the morning, and then working on my skill, to trace, to draw, anything that could possibly get me money. I already accepted 2 offers to design, one is a banner and one is a book cover. It's nice to help someone sometimes and now that I'm still new, I'd like to build a connection first, and then I put the price tag on.
Speaking of the new semester, my class has been shuffled. I am not shuffled, and by that I mean I'm staying together with my friends. They all got the same class as I got except 1 or 2, which they want to call their parents and have them come to the academic centre to transfer their children to other class. It's pointless. I know the advantage of this whole class shuffling is more chance to meet more friends, and by that we can open our eyes even wider to see which one is better, which one is kinda lousy, which one we actually fit right in and potentially become partner, but don't you think it's too much of a work? We have to adapt again and again and again, which is not always very easy for everyone. Some took days, some took weeks, some took months, and some even still don't have any after a semester. Just two days ago when I heard a friend of mine has a very weird and spooky kinda classmate, a girl. And from hearing that story I was a bit disgusted, but also sympathetic. I mean, I know she behaves strangely, oddly or even bizarrely, and her so-called-friends are all fake and only wanted to make fun of her, this is very very sad. But when I came across of her personally (like, right after my friend told me the story) I can't imagine why she would have a real friend. And just yesterday when I was opening my facebook account, I found a message in my inbox from her, saying that she already added me and wants me to approve. Geez, I really don't know what to say. I'm not a girl-hater, but when it comes to a freak, or a dumbo, or a loon, I wouldn't tolerate and be sympathetic. I did this in my past and it ended so badly I don’t even wanna remember. But then again, I don't wanna look so mean or evil but I also don't want her to think that I'm giving her a chance (to become friend, of course) because it just won't happen no matter what except if one day I woke up and went autistic all the way to the zero IQ.
Enough with this girl crap. Now after all those things I have said I really don't feel like continuing this writing. As for sure, I'm gonna be writing a lot more at this holiday, along with designing God-knows-what that I might share here on my blog. =)

Final Exam is Coming!
Final exam is coming! I know some of us have already went through it and some of us haven't. But come to think of it, my campus is known as the latest there is to give it student5's final exam.
Okay for the first day the exam would be for Graphic Computer subject. It is not a test in a class, but more like to collect what we have been assigned since two weeks ago. The exam is about making a 3D character, 80% of it should be base on a shape of cube. So if you guys have been following my activity for the past month you should've realized that this project and the kobico is very much alike.
Secondly, it's History of Western Art, which is a theory subject, not much to say but I only know a few of it.
Third day, Nirmana Datar, a class assignment, we are supposed to bring scissors, cutters, mat, origami papers and such. You can think of art class when you back in elementary school, it's pretty much like that.
Fourth, Colour Theory on Corporate Colour subject, we are supposed to think of a restaurant/clothing line and make stuffs from it. I chose restaurant and I have to make (and design) the place mat, paper bag, coaster, and also standing menu along with the colour swatches. And it has to be done using poster paint! Gosh.
Fifth is Drawing, my lecturer said that it's gonna be about environment, human structure and gradation and such. Hope it's not too hard. =(
Sixth is gonna be Character Building, the subject where most of my classmates fail. Me too, by the way. It is hard and my lecturer wants us to answer with theoretical basis along with examples. Gonna look for newspaper these few days.
The last but the least (you heard me), is English. Not much to talk, based on TOEFL.
Okay, that's my post for now. See ya! =)

Happy New Year!
Okay I know this post is soo late, people have come back from their holidays, and I just posted a happy-new-year greeting. Well, I guess it's late than never right? =)
Stepping in the year of 2010, I believe most of us had a very common (if not boring) new year's eve. I felt it too, and I don't know why, the beginning of the year have already felt so not right. I know people have to be optimistic from times to times, but we can't help to felt a wee bit pessimistic every now and then, eh?
Speaking of what language I'm writing this blog, I think I should consider to update my blog with more recent posts. I mean, I feel like my English is getting worse and not used in my campus so I think the better way to "preserve" my skill and to keep my brain sharp is to write this blog more often and with more variety of contents (you know I usually wrote reviews). =D
Okay, back to the topic where we were talking about new year, we all know that tradition teaches us to make a resolution every year. Well, guess what, I don't have any. Haha... Yeah not funny. I just don't know what to hope for, my world is spinning out of control, it can be good at times, but can also turn miserably just in a snap *snap!*. I don't want to hope for something that'll turn me down later, so I guess I'm just hoping that I can join a community where I can get lotta friends. Current obssesion of joining community: dance team, church choir, or get a permanent job. =3
And FYI I am also improving my Chinese again! Yesterday I was browsing around the library and I found this textbook. My skill is beyond that textbook actually, but I think it's good to at least take a peek and read the book again, so if there's anything, any characters, any grammatical rules I forgot, I can remember again.
Hmm... My friends in campus have gotten a wee bit better since last time I complained, we have been more "unitized" than before. Still, I still think some of them aren't very friendly to me.
Love life expectation: zeroo! There's so much thing I want to experience before settle down in a relationship. I'm only a young adult and u want me to settle down? There's just no way! If you've seen things as much as I have, u would know that being in a relationship is comfortable, where u can find love and embraces, but also would be your source of stresses, anger and hatred, sometimes. I try not to have any romantic entanglement this year as I am figuring out what I really want from this world and how to achieve it.
Final words, I am really really glad that I updated this blog. Even though I didn't post any at December that's mainly because the holiday season and also I have a very large amount of homeworks (projects). Like right now, I have been assigned to trace 3 pictures and I did 2, but still rough trace and I haven't touched it up yet. And there are a lot of others that I don't even wanna talk about.
Okay, see ya next time and I'll consider to post my artworks (only the good ones)! =P

Rain
People who live in Jakarta might have realized that in this few days, Jakarta has been very cloudy and it sometimes rains. As much as I love raining, I still do have something that I don't like about rain.
I like rain, because it makes the weather cool and nice, no more hotness, no more sun. It is nice to have rain sometimes, but when it comes often, I can't help but feeling angry because I can't go nowhere, because it made the surroundings all wet and damp.
But to be honest, rain rinses all kinds of dirt. It smooths the ground and makes the grasses grow. It is nice having rain sometimes, but not often. Cloudy? Sure I like. =)

Mid-Term Review
After awhile out of the world of blogging, it's finally time for me to update this nearly abandoned blog. I'm really really sorry I didn't post any posts earlier but I'll explain later.
So, after about two and a half months I stepped into the world of university, which I may say very very new and diverse compared from the high school life, I found out that I might have not prepared mentally well for this kind of environment. I know we all freshmen adapting while running but I just think this is too much for me. FYI, in the university life, the lecturers don't ask if you're late or why you didn't do you assignments. They just simply don't care with your grades or even you yourself. They don't want to heart any excuses, even if your beloved fish has died or you broke your fingernail.
The fact is, in university life you have to be independent and be responsible, for your every action will affect your very life and therefore, your future.
The diversity I mentioned earlier refers to the wide "selection" of friends you can make. I'm a proud Chinese, even though that doesn't mean I only interact with Chinese only. To be honest, if you accuse me of being racism, I might be a bit. But not extreme. I hate Indonesian people because they're so immature and it just makes me sick. Maybe it all came from my earlier education from my parents that Indonesian equals shit.
Anyway I joined this squad which majority of the members are Indonesian. And I happened to make friend with this Chinese only. They accused me of being racist but hello?
As I entered the university life, I realized that my major is practical and not academic or even theorithical, but the projects given are so time consuming and I go to the campus by bus everyday and it made me very exhausted. I nearly don't sleep every night and it could affect my health someday. I just hope that behind all this I can find something worth fighting for.
Now I have this little spare time to tell about university life, I just hope that all the torture could end and wish me luck for the mid-term exams! Ciao!

Blood: The Last Vampire
Well, this is an adoption film, adopting the Japan anime named the same.
I personally don't think that this movie will hit big sale because the bloodshed was not real, and also the ake up is a bit much, the camera angle is also kinda not nice. The color tone a bit dark, and the storyline is not much as expected. The acting not too good, monsters' design are ugly!
The only good thing about this movie is that it sometimes can make you shriek. =)
I give 6 stars out of 10!

The Ugly Truth
This story introduces Abby as a successful young woman who has control issue and a very rudely down to earth man named Mike. They both just don't get along. But on day when Abby met this perfectly cute guy, she actually asked for advice to Mike. Mike happily gave it and the plan went well, except the part that Mike is actually falling for Abby and vice versa.
The movie is hilariously funny and witty, yet so realistic in times. I don't know if you noticed, but Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl are most likely the most frequently seen face in this year. Wonder why?
This movie also provides certain sexual jokes, so if you are a minor then don't watch. It's smart, it's funny. I give 8 stars out of 10!

4bia 2
Here it comes the movie that will haunt u tonight! 4bia 2 was released due to the success of 4bia, but the stories inside are not related with the prequel at all. 4bia 2 contains of 5 stories, each with its own uniqueness and thrill.
The first one called Novice, a young priest who ate the food for the hungry ghost. Because of karma he then became the ghost itself. The second one called Ward, where a young man who was in an accident eagerly looked to his "neighboor" in the hospital ward. He then became the old man whom he was so eagerly peeked. The third named Backpacker, which followed the story of 2 backpacker from Japan. They wanted to hitchike and got killed by the ghost the driver's made. The fourth called Salvage, where a boy killed when his mom tried to start the car. The fifth named In the Middle, a joke but quite funny.
Overall this movie is nice but not scary. I give 7 out of 10 stars.

The Love of Siam
A must see movie! The Love of Siam is a Thai movie but unlike the others, it provides us a way wider look of life. It centers the problem of most families: unhappy marriage, lost of child, and love. The movie is very romantic, touching and desperate.
The movie starts with a young kid named Tong who is very active. He and his sister, Tang accidentally threw gum onto neighbor and also schoolmate of Tong, Mew's head. Since then Tong searched way for redemption but never success until there was one day Mew was being bullied and Tong was there to save the day. Since then, they became close friends.
The relationships between Tong and Mew grew intense as they play together, sleep together and spending time together. They are so alike brothers. Tong has this one game alike treasure hunting where he bought a wooden Santa doll and split it, and let Mew searched each part from the given clues. It was nearly complete when the final part (the nose) which was hidden on a tree went missing because the tree was cut down. Tong was very upset but Mew remained grateful.
One day Tong had to go out of the town, and at the day he moved, Mew watched the departure of his friend and cried.
When Tong came back, Tang didn't came back with the family because she wanted to prolonged her vacation. This is no problem until a few days later she went missing. Tong was very depressed, but Mew was there giving his arm and shoulder to cry on.
After Tang went missing and classified dead, Tong's family decided to move out of town. Leaving Mew alone again.
Few years later when they both are high school students, Mew is the lead singer of a band named August and has a loving fan named Ying who lived next door (at the house where Tong's house was), while Tong also already has a girlfriend named Donut. Tong was going to buy Mew's album but there was none left, but then he saw Mew and they both feel the sparks came back. Then they traded phone numbers.
Mew has a manager named June. She looked a lot like Tang, and therefore was hired to disguise as the come-back-Tang by now a work-a-holic Tong's mother to distract her husband from his alcohol addiction. Then the relationship between Tong and Mew was once again renewed. They both are close to each other again.
Ying who has feeling for Mew finally said her feeling out, but Mew answered that she is a good friend. While the relationship between Tong and Donut is also endangered because Tong is willing to buy an expensive gift for Mew (Santa doll).
On the welcome party of the coming-back-Tang, Mew sing a song he made by himself. It was a love song, and he never made any before, even though the producer said to him to make a love song. Mew couldn't, but now he can. The song, is obviously for Tong. After party, Mew asked what he wants to say about the song, and Tong kissed Mew. Tong's mother saw this. Later then she confronts Mew not to see Tong anymore, which is even though denied by Mew, but still he keep distance from Tong.
Tong who knows nothing at all became frustrated. Then his mother told him all. When decorating Christmas tree, Tong's mother gave him a choice. To take the boy doll, or the girl doll to be put on the tree. Tong chose the boy doll.
Ying who now know the relationship the two, became supportive and helped Tong to gain the remaining part of the Santa doll. They went to the shop and Ying begged the seller to only sell the nose.
Last, Mew was about to perform at Siam Square. Tong decided to break up with Donut and he run to the Siam Square, accompanied by Ying. And there the ending scene was. After performing, Mew once again asked what Tong wants to say about the song, and Tong said that he couldn't be Mew's boyfriend, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't love Mew. He then give Mew a Christmas gift, the remaining part of the Santa doll, the nose. Back home, Mew put it back and finally completed the doll. He said thank you and cried silently.
There the story and I really think this is one of the best movie I saw this year. Not by special effect, but by the elements of the story. I give 10 out of 10 stars for this one!
And the lyric of the song Mew wrote for Tong:
It might not be as well-written or beautiful like other songs.
I want you to know that a love song can't be written if you're not in love.
But for you, I can write this song so easily.
You might have heard hundreds or thousands of love songs.
They might be meaningful but their meanings are for anyone.
When you listen to this song, it is written only for you.
If you understand the meaning, our hearts will be together, forever...

Pre-College Life
Ah, after a really few weeks not having time to go to the net to update my blog, it is actually a really fascinating time to be able to update again my dusty blog.
This few weeks, or should I say this past month has been real busy to me. I have no time to play around yet I don't have enough money to spend elsewhere beside for buying for college equipments, which is horribly expensive.
I made some friends over FoPasBIN and TKH, some are better than others. Some are friendlier than others.
I am happy now that I have freedom to do what I want, when I want. But it also a burden that I have to take responsibility of what I've don. I guess that's just the way the world works, right?

Revolutionary Road
I don't really get what is this story about, but since this movie has won Oscar so I guess this must be good.
The story told us about the suburban life of an ex-actress and a guy. Their life is sure jagged every now and then but they'll come across. They both wanna live in Paris but then the husband got promoted. This brought a whole new conflict to the marriage.
I give this one 4 stars out of 10 (because I'm too dumb to understand).
17 Again
Okay, when I first watched this movie, for the first 20 minutes or so I thought that this movie is a joke. The hair style that Zac had, and all and all. But I tell u, after 30 minutes, it all became so awesome! The jokes are pretty funny and the story, even though kinda classic (like Freaky Friday) but still okay.
The story is pretty much about how young Zac who didn't go to college because he wanted to marry his love. 30 years later he spent his life grudging about that decision, resulting in divorce.
Then he wished to be young once again and he did. He then re-work on his relationship with his spouse and kids.
And there's also this character Ned, who was a nerd back in high school, he was in crush with the school's headmistress and the both turned out to be nerds. They even speak elfish. XD
I recommend to watch this movie if you want to have some laugh. I give 7 out of 10 stars.

Coraline
This movie is brilliant! I liked it. Even though a bit boring at the beginning and ending.
This story told us about a little girl named Coraline (not Caroline) who has just moved into her new house. Her parents are not very varing to her and so she one night found a passage into a new, exactly as her imagination parallel world.
At first she was very comfortable in there, but it grew to be a trap to keep her forever there.
You should watch it. I give out 8 out of 10 stars for this movie.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Now, this is my 2009 most wanted movie. And I loved it, even though I was sometimes a bit frustrated at how things were changed in this movie. I have watched it twice and I loved every minute of it.
Harry in this year would dicscover the secret of Voldemort's immortality: by using horcrux. However, it is a very difficult task to search for it, and don't mention destroy it. For retrieving one, Dumbledore ended up died. Killed by Severus Snape. Well, it was one of the saddest moment in the movie.
Magic wasn't very exposed here, and some characters have never appeared such as Vernon, Petunia, Dudley, Cho Chang. Oh, and the kissing scene with Ginny, euw.
I was kinda angry when David Yates told that Hermione and Ron have sparks, and so with Harry and Ginny, because it ruined the very essence of the book seventh. We will not be surprised by the chapter "30 Years Later" because we would've figured who ended up with who. So it's kinda reckless.
The story itself was pretty dark, and so the ones that didn't read the book wouldn't understand and therefore made judgement that this movie sucks. I can't blame them, for a movie suppose to not leave any question.
It's kinda funny that the tagline "I'm safe with you, Harry" actually didn't appear in the movie. I was waiting for that!
Okay, I loved the story, love the soundtrack. Hahaha... I give it 9 out of 10 stars for it.

Megan Fox: A Granny or Tranny?!
Okay, some people might have heard of it already, and some haven't. So I will tell you guys again, just in case. There's a wild rumor lately since the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen that said that Megan Fox was actually a man (transgender she is). A lot of conspiracy here and there, and this is the news I got from www.weeklyworldnews.com:
The internet has been abuzz since this Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony, where Megan Fox jokingly remarked that she looked like a man. When interviewed on the red carpet, she said “I look like Alan Alda in drag. I’m a tranny. I’m a man.”
At the time, reporters passed it off as a jovial attempt to cover for her nerves. However, today she has cleared the air and officially reported: she’s really a man.
Megan Fox was born Mitchell Reed Fox in Rockwood, Tennessee. From an early age, Mitchell showed an interest in both performing and women’s clothing. When having a preacher lay hands on him did not ‘cure’ him of these interests, his parents simply put him on the pageant circuit.
By the age of 13, Mitchell had already started a career as a female child performer called ‘Megan Fox’. Making her debut on an Olsen Twins straight-to-video release, the twins have kept his secret all this time.
As a sweet 16 present, Fox’s parents offered him sexual reassignment surgery, which, given their child’s career, they’d hoped to write off as a business expense. Unfortunately laws prohibit such surgery to be done to minors.
Since then Megan has been working non-stop, and been included on many Hottest Women lists in publications around the world. Megan, as she goes by now exclusively, also noted this Sunday how much she wants Salma Hayek’s figure. She has even scheduled surgery later this month to get it. After the two met in New York this week, Hayek offered to have a cast made of her bust so doctors can match them exactly on Megan Fox’s chest.
The internet is already speculating whether this news will be worked into the plot of the upcoming Transformers sequel.
Okay the last paragraph doesn't seem to be real but hey, it's not mine to judge. =)
However, IMO I think this is bull crap. Kinda fake like how come Salma Hayek would agree?

Without You, It's Nothing
I was browsing my forum when I found this very very romantic poem. It's originally in chinese but I'll translate it for you!
Translation:
The stare of worry makes a needle oceanbed
To guess only makes me can't eat and drink
A bit annoying yet also a bit interesting
Without the gift of romance it'd make awkward reaction
Without spirit flowers are wrong colours
But very confusing I dumbly like you
Smile, even prettier, even sweeter, if it's not yours, then isn't special
Tears, even bitter, even saltier, with your loving embrace, it all gonna be sunny day
Leaning, even closer, even stickier, without hug, will be too far
In the world, only to you I have feeling
Playing, even crazier, even wilder, if only you stare me, I will stop
Road, even wider, ever further, with you holding my hand, it's all gonna be safe
Well, it's different between chinese and english literature so it might not be as romantic as it really meant when translated. (It might also be a denial of my bad translating skill) =)
